The Elves and the Last Christmas Bear

Mrs Claus

Shows running from 15th-20th December 2022 at the Market Theatre, Sun Street, Hitchin.

After an amazing two years visiting local families at their homes, this year the Doorstep Elves are also bringing you a wonderful interactive family Christmas show, packed full of magic, jokes, songs and more.

When there is only one teddy left in the toyshop the day before Christmas eve, but still another 20,000 children who have asked for teddies, what are the elves going to do?! With help from the audience, and a LOT of magic and silliness, the Elves get to work on making sure that no child has to wake up on Christmas day without a teddy.

Will it all be as simple as it seems?
Will the elves mess up (BIG TIME) along the way?
You will have to wait and see!

Mrs Claus will be on hand to ensure the elves don’t make TOO much mess of the situation. She will also be checking every child off on the nice list, and signing their certificates to prove they really have been good!

A 45-minute experience including a 25-minute interactive show that all the family can enjoy, it may even leave the older family members with a little tear in their eye.

Tickets are per person. Under 1yrs are free. Perfect for children ages 2+

*Please note it is in a very intimate space so we cannot accommodate push chairs, if you require special assistance/wheelchair space, please get in touch prior to booking and we will amend the booking capacity for the performance(s) you wish to attend.

**Due to space limitations, prams/pushchairs will need to be left outside the venue under a gazebo. The venue has CCTV but please do not leave anything valuable with your pram.

Elf Show FAQS

The experience is about 45 minutes but the show itself runs for about 25 minutes. It’s very interactive, magical and fast paced. The seating isn’t the traditional theatre set up so they shouldn’t be able to get in anyones way etc. if you ’re child is getting fractious you’re welcome to step outside with them. Feel free to give them a snack/drink to help too!

Cancellation policy- Tickets can only be refunded if the event is cancelled by the organiser. Please get in touch ASAP if you wish to reschedule your booking, this is only possible if you wish to move to a show with availability which you can see on our website.

Not specifically. However, the show is taking place in an intimate room as opposed to an actual theatre. There won’t be any microphones or stage lighting. The loudest noises will likely come from the audience participation. There will be music playing from a speaker but that’s about it. The performance is very interactive so if your child doesn’t want to be involved/selected for anything then let one of the staff know on the day and we will make sure we do our best to not pick on them or overwhelm them. There will be some basic use of sign language too, although regrettably, not full signing.
Absolutely, as long as the time you’re after has the availability. The capacity is 30 so provided your numbers don’t exceed this then there’s absolutely no reason we can’t accommodate your group.
We can’t speak for all children, but this show is primarily aimed at the younger Foundation & KS1 aged children, those who are possibly a bit too young to sit through a whole pantomime but who enjoy being entertained. By all means if you have a mixture of age groups, bring the older children too as it’s always nice watching their younger siblings enjoy themselves, but if all the children are over 10 you may want to reconsider.

Yes, but under 1’s go free.

It is, but please could you let us know prior to booking tickets so we can reduce the amount available to make sure you have plenty of space 🙂 The toilets however aren’t big, but they are on the ground floor.

We have a list of all the tickets purchased so we will check on your arrival how many people are with you 🙂 We’d love it if you let us know all the names of your party before hand so we can wow the children!
